Nineteen Ombuds from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah gathered in Santa Fe, NM October 25-27, 2018, at the Inn on the Alameda for an informal opportunity to connect and learn.
Discussion items included Ombuds challenges, fostering creativity in Ombuds work, working with groups, the future of the ombuds profession, addressing problematic leaders when visitors do not grant permission and rebuilding trust after the formal process. Attendees also heard presentations from local experts on the topics of “Peacemaking: Can Tribal Core Values Heal Conflict?” and “Collective Decision Making.” In the early mornings and evenings, participants enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and great food!
